iLLogical & Essence and Pebbles present RnB Star!

Congratulations on iLLogical winning through the final round in the RnB Star Competition presented by Pebbles and Essence magazine. From standing in line to standing in front of the judges, iLLogical did what came natural to them - entertaining the crowd. It wasn't the drive for the prize that made the band stand out. It was the overall, overwhelming spirit of the band and their music that got the attention of Pebbles, Brian Michael Cox, and Chili of T.L.C. enthralling them to move iLLogical to the next phase of the event. "We're not interested in winning the contest. All we need is Pebbles to see us and she'll know what to do" , said Joel Ray of iLLogical in an interview with the local media just before going inside the 14th Street Playhouse in the Atlanta Woodruff Arts Center. And see she did. As soon as iLLogical entered the audition room, it was followed with, "Oh, wow!" They didn't expect to see a group with such numbers. The room was riveted as Joel Ray performed his self written single, "This Letter". Nothing but positive comments from the judges. "There hasn't been a band this good since Mint Condition," says Peebles. And from the film crew.."Sound like some Luther Vandross"

To see the actual footage from the competition, go to http://www.essencemusicfestival.com/rbstar.html and keep up with iLLogical because we're gonna need your support if we're gonna go all the way. It's so iLLogical.

Majesty & X-File @ The Gate

Last Sunday was...I don't know....OFF THA HOOK! Majesty and X-File performed last night at The Gate down in Tara blvd in Atlanta. The Southern Prince did his hit single "Stuntman" then was followed up with X-File and his smash "We Partay". Then, when the crowd thought they couldn't get anymore, X-File returned with a new track "Limelight". Drinks in the air, thongs out, and booties on the floor. You had to be there. Matter of fact, you can. I hear they're doing it again THIS SUNDAY [Feb. 27] and they're bringing the iLLogical crew. Check out some pics from the show. Also, the vid from the night is coming soon. Be on the look.

the Metro and Illogical

“Always on our grind, so you can’t say we’re not worthy.” A line from the song “We Working” featuring X-File [a.k.a. Xavier ] is true when it comes to Illogical. The band performed at the Metro Lanes last Saturday to a heavy crowd, but credit for that crowd comes from the bands vigorous promoting of the event the night before. The group went out to Opera downtown in Atlanta during Keisha Cole’s album release party to pass out fliers for their own show. Despite the freezing temperature, the band worked hard to get the word out for the show the next night.

Saturday night at Metro Lanes, the band showed up in full fashion. They normally don’t appear in the club scene, but that doesn’t mean their music isn’t designed for it and the crowd was in the mood for some good music. Noxx, Majesty, X-File, and Joel Ray with Illogical shut the club down as more and more people began flocking to the scene once the drums started hitting. Old and new fans came to the stage to dance and sing with the artist. All in all, it was a fun night. The Metro is an established place with a bowling alley, two pool halls, dance hall, and bar. But, now that ILL 119 has been there, the Metro is…so illogical.

Illogical wins the Hype Studios Universal Tour.

DSCF2650

It was a groundbreaking night for Illogical. Majesty White the Southern Prince, Xaviar "X-File" Ellis, and Chris "Noxx" Williams, of the new group Illogical [absent Joel Ray] came through with there live band performance at the Hype City TV Studio. After over 20 performances, Illogical won a position in the top ten slots for the tour beginning in January. What makes the group so outstanding is that they came out of the box with a live band - Don "Da Don" Lewis (drums), Christopher "X.Y.U." Leonard (keyboard), Ahmad Thomas (bass guitar), and Todd "T" Hardaway (lead guitar).

The venue was eloquent with Christmas lights celebrating the holiday season hosted by Big Sam of Hype City Kings. After many performances, all full of energy, none could compare to the energy of Illogical. The music that they produce is of a unique sound that can't be matched. It's caused by the fact that each member is from a different background of life, spanning from West Coast all the way to Jamaica. It's most likely what stood out to the judges at the event. At the end, the judges called the band up and they rushed the red carpet.

Check out the photos from the night at the bottom and keep up with the band here, on their Facebook page, or at www.executivebre.com.
